Depending on who you talk to this answer may differ. Is it fall yet? Some say NO WAY! While others say WOOHOO YES! My answer is definitely WOOHOO YES, however there is no denying that my favourite season is in the air.
I, like many, get caught up in all the Pinterest, Facebook, and Instagram posts about fall baking, fall decor, fall DIY crafts, and of course pumpkin spice every. And for that reason I decided to take my girls to a bakery and market about 10 minutes from us which I have not been to before, the Punch Bowl Market and Bakery, to check out what they had to get us in the fall spirit.
After we got situated in the baby carrier, and gave our no touching rules, we were ready to go. Lilly and I looked around and took in the views right away. Farm land, right on the edge of the Niagara Escarpment with a gorgeous view of Lake Ontario and the waterfront cities, including Toronto. If you ever have the chance to drive along Ridge Road, please do, as it is absolutely breathtaking.
The market is in an old barn, and if anyone knows me, they know I am a sucker for old barns. This gorgeous barn is a 150 year old barn restored to yet true to its roots. All I can say is beautiful! In addition, the barn was surrounded by gorgeous fall floral arrangements, all of which were gorgeous shades of reds, oranges and yellows.
Inside, Lilly was drawn to the old fashioned toys! Tea sets, army men, kaleidoscopes, dolls and planes. Thank goodness she listened to the no touching talk in the parking lot...Not! ;)
I was of course drawn to the perseveres, sauces and local produce. I am a big fan of local produce and this is a great place to buy it. Peaches, tomatoes, corn, peppers, garlic, you name it they had it. They also had a bakery where they make homemade goodies.
Overall, I purchased some produce, BBQ sauce made by Camp 31 (www.camp31.com/), strawberry rhubarb pie, lemon loaf and a pineapple carrot loaf.
I would highly recommend checking out the Punch Bowl Market and Bakery for your everyday produce, fall display and sweet needs.
